Pasture Renovation

Although pasture renovation is not a new concept, the benefits of such a practice are not widely known.  The more widely used techniques are  interseeding or no-tilling into the current grasses that are already established.  These methods minimize soil erosion because the existing sod is not disturbed.

To maximize the potential of such a prodecure, a diverse mixture of grasses and legumes should be used.  This is beneficial because many species mature at different times, thus spreading the production distribution throughout the year.  In addition, the usage of legumes allows nitrogen to be replenished in the soil.
